We found and fixed the broken "Back to Beastiary" link.
Charles Samual Addams (January 7, 1912 - September 29, 1988) died this day in 1988. Addams was an American cartoonist and was known for his dark humor and macabre characters. He is probably best know for the characters he created who would become known as The Addams Family. Addams wanted to be remembered as a fun loving artist and had requested that he be given a party instead of a wake, and that is why, though we don't normally do deaths in the news, we are giving this one a mention. He died of heart failure.
Also, on this day in 1928, Sir Alexander Fleming dicovered penicillin.
I would also like to mention our sponsor, the War of Winds. A very nice webcomic with a very nice creator.
In the words of its creator: "The War of Winds is an epic fantasy/sci-fi story that spans in total, about 3000 years. The current story featured by this site (The War of Winds website) details the end of the war between the Four Winds, hence the title."
The War of Winds has a huge archive. You can go there and check it out by clicking the tower banner to the left.

Well, we finally got everything working identically, as far as we can tell, in both IE and Firefox browsers. We still have to update the bestiary and profile entries for the new look, and do a few other small tweaks, but the job is mostly done. We also updated the profile pictures for Culric, Dhinn and Thorfinn. Eventually, if slowly, we'll get all the other entries updated with new pictures, including the map locations. Thanks to everyone for the input which helped us find and fix the problems.

Neptune was discovered 162 years ago on this day in 1846 by French astronomer Urbain Jean Joseph Le Verrier and British astronomer John Couch Adams. It was the first planet discovered by mathematical prediction rather than visual observation. Neptune is the eighth planet and is roughly 2.7 billion miles or 4.4 billion kilometers from Earth. It has a diameter of roughly 30,600 miles or 49,500 kilometers, about 3.8 times that of earth, it is about 17 times more massive than earth, and Neptune is so large that you could fit 58 Earths inside of it. 58 Earths lined up in a row would make a line long enough to go from the Earth to the moon and back.

We are shooting for sometime (probably evening) on Wednesday for our next webcomic update (but we might have a little surprise before then). With the new website we have really been swamped trying to iron out all of the glitches. We're somewhat close, but there's still some fixing to do.
There probably won't be regular update days, but we'll be shooting for one to two pages a week. The daily comic, however, will continue to be updated every single day as it has been for almost a year now without a miss! We're also planning to throw in a bonus comic now and then which may be nearly anything from a comic strip to a one or two page story of another genre.

You might notice that we've placed an ad banner on the website. We have tried to locate it so that it won't be an eyesore. We will also try to screen the ads that run and make sure that they are fairly in keeping with the theme of the Culric's Chronicles website, as well as making sure that they are family friendly, within reason.
We hope to eventually offer a few Culric's Chronicles products for purchase. This will help us keep ourselves fed as we continue to produce the webcomic. In the meantime, if you would like to help us out, the best thing you can do is to vote for us at Top Web Comics every day, click on our ad banner when you see a new ad, and continue to visit our website as often as possible!
And most importantly, we appreciate your visits to our website!

Welcome to the completely updated Culric's Chronicles Website!
We've had some reports of the fonts for the menu being blue. We're looking for the problem, they're not supposed to be blue. Otherwise everything seems to be working.
We'll continue to work on the bestiary and profile entries to get them updated to the new look. And we'll eventually be getting better art in many of those entries.
We're also working on getting the daily comic index fixed so it doesn't open in a new page with minimal navigation. That should happen over the next 2 or 3 days.

Today we updated the vote incentive at Top Web Comics, so head on over and vote if you'd like a sneak peek at the new chapter's cover page! Along with the new chapter, we will be unveiling a completely new look for the website. We think it's a big improvement. We don't anticipate any down-time, but there may be a few broken links and other glitches initially. We'll be staying on top of those and should have them fixed within the first few hours. The bestiary and profile entries have not yet been updated for appearance or content, but we'll be getting at least the appearance of those pages in line with the rest of the site in the next couple of weeks.

This day in history (yes, this very day!), the Large Hadron Collider was activated for the very first time in a large cavern under the Franco-Swiss border near Geneva, Switzerland. The LHC is the largest and highest-energy particle accelerator complex in the world, contained in a tunnel with a circumference of 17 miles, and at a depth of about 100 metres underground. When activated, the collider will produce the as-yet only theorized Higgs boson, or "God Partical", and the study of it would help to explain how massless particles can form matter that does have mass. Protons traveling through the collider will excellerate to about 99.999999% of light speed. Some of the experiments planned for the LHC include searches for extra dimensions, dark matter, micro black holes, and magnetic monopoles. The first high-energy collisions are planned to take place after the LHC is officially unveiled on October 21, 2008, and the entire project is anticipated to cost more than $10 billion.
