| The firebird is a unique creature that is often mistaken
for a phoenix. It is, in fact, not even a living creature, but
rather a clockwork mechanism, much like the golem. Thus, the
firebird does not eat. However, it tends to be highly territorial. Almost as interesting as
the creature itself is its means of attack. The firebird will seek a flame or an intense source
of heat and sit in it for a few minutes, then fly at its target and grip at it with its sharp
claws, simultaneously tearing and burning the flesh.
As with the golem, the origin of the firebird is unclear. However, they are most commonly
found in the mountains of the north, near Alfyrian territory. |
