| Thought originally to be myth, phase warriors are described in legend as warriors
who exist in a realm between the physical world and purgatory; neither alive, dead,
nor undead. As a result, they are powerful immortal creatures who have the rare
ability to phase between plains of existence, an ability they are only known to share
with demigods, arbiter angels, and revenant mares.
Due to their incredible age, phase warriors are, for all intents and purposes,
genderless. They are also shapeshifters, able to assume the form of any creature
that is relatively the same size. Shifting into a creature much bigger or smaller
than the warrior itself will result in a dramatic decrease in strength. Shape shifting
takes a tremendous amount of energy, and they cannot shift at night, for reasons
yet unknown.
One of the most remarkable attributes of the phase warrior is its ability to metamorphose
into a different creature. At first thought to be a result of shape shifting, it was later
discovered by Culric
and his company that this transformation was a completely organic--rather than magical--
function. The phase warrior evolves into a horrific beast like none ever seen in Narvidia.
The phase warrior's skin is impervious to any mortal weaponry, including magical and
enchanted weapons. The only substance known to penetrate its hide is pure gold. It
is resistant but not immune to magic attacks. In theory, the phase warrior is also
vulnerable to immortally crafted weapons, such as the ones carried by arbiter angels. Its greatest weakness,
perhaps, is the touch of a virgin woman, which will dissolve the warrior's skin like acid. |
